According to official sources from the Shanghai Economic and Information Commission, Zhang Ying, Deputy Director of the Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, attended the Shanghai Kunpeng Computing Industry Summit yesterday. She stated that the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Government have always attached great importance to promoting innovative applications and industrial development in the three main areas of integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, and biomedicine, accelerating the cultivation of new formats and models, and striving to build Shanghai into a new highland for the development of the national digital economy around the construction of the "five centers".

Zhang Ying pointed out that in the next step, Shanghai will continue to promote the agglomeration and development of the digital economy in four aspects, and create a new ecosystem for industrial development:

In terms of independent innovation, we will increase our efforts in independent research and development and introduction, accelerate the organization and promotion of core technologies in key areas such as 5G, integrated circuits, and artificial intelligence, promote the development of basic software, and strive to gradually reach or approach the international advanced level in key technologies and enterprise competitiveness.

In terms of industrial layout, relying on leading companies and gathering enterprises, we aim to build a new generation of information technology industrial base.

In terms of public services, we will create a batch of industrial ecological public service platforms that combine hosts, basic software, and applications.

In terms of business environment, we will improve mechanisms and policy focus, and strive to build an efficient and win-win industrial development environment.

In addition, Zhang Ying hopes that Huawei can combine the advantages of Shanghai's software and hardware, finance, manufacturing and other industries to accelerate the construction of the Shanghai Kunpeng Ecological Innovation Center, focus on developing the software and hardware ecosystem, expand industrial space, cultivate industrial talents, form a batch of high-value, high-performance and highly available independent innovation solutions, create a batch of demonstration engineering projects, and form a globally competitive computing industry cluster in Shanghai.

In August of this year, at the Huawei Intelligent Computing Sub Forum of the 2019 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Huawei and the Shanghai Municipal Government held the launch ceremony of the Kunpeng Industrial Ecological Innovation Center. Huawei Shanghai Kunpeng Industrial Ecological Innovation Center will focus on building five major platforms and industrial landing incubators, including Kunpeng Ecological Technology Empowerment Platform, Kunpeng Ecological Transformation Support Platform, Kunpeng Industrial Innovation Verification Platform, Industrial Talent Cultivation Agglomeration Platform, and Kunpeng Practical Achievement Exhibition Platform.
